179 housing units delivered to OFWs to rehabilitate homes hit by 2019 quakes
THE Philippine National Housing Authority (NHA) and the city government have handed over 179 housing units to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to rehabilitate those whose homes were hit in the 2019 quake.
This was done under the “OFW Pabahay Project” in Kalaisan, Kidapawan City, North Cotabato.
Mayor Joseph Evangelista said that under the Php 57.5 million project, families of OFWs whose houses were destroyed in a series of tremors in October 2019 will be provided with shelter.
The housing unit has a 120 square-meter lot, a 30 square meter floor covered with solar panels besides septic tanks. The OFW village also has a community park, children’s playground, community water tank, and waste treatment facility.
The homeowners will have to pay a small amount every month to the city government for 5 to 10 years.
