Cavite as the Next Transit Oriented Province in the Philippines
The construction of LRT-1 Cavite Extension is said to be "on track and in fast-taking shape", with operations expected to begin in September 2024, according to the Department of Transportation on Monday.
Transport Secretary Jaime Bautista said that the department made arrangements with the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) "to ensure that the rail line will be operational as scheduled".
Once operational, this 11.7-kilometer extension project will connect Baclaran in Paranaque City to Bacoor City in Cavite and is expected to cut the travel time to just 25 minutes.
