Given the number of households, let us assume that 1M households will likely buy a dog next year. How many dogs can you breed to serve this market?

If you can find a way to breed 20 dogs and make a profit from each puppy say P5,000.00, that’s P100K income for you. Would you enter the dog breeding business? What if you have a bigger kennel in an AGri-Business park and you can breed a hundred puppies?

For bird breeding business, having this number of households as the main target market, would seem very lucrative. Bird rearing is very easy compared to taking care of dogs as pets. This is why penetrating this market requires very little effort. A family can easily shell out P3,000 for a pair of birds packaged with a cage and its accessories.

I know several bird breeders who can clear a million pesos each year supplying birds to pet shops mostly located in Cartimar. A pair of birds could fetch a thousand to several thousand of pesos.

If you will do bird breeding as a business, a pair of African Lovebird breeders can produce 3 offsprings on average and can breed minimum of three times per year. Thats 9 birds each year. If you will do this as a business you should at least have 30 pairs. 30 pairs of birds in their breeding cage only requires about 20-24 square meters of space.
