Shangri-La Group’s Jen hotel to shut down permanently on September 1
Hotel Jen Manila by Shangri-La will permanently close its doors on September 1 to pave the way for the redevelopment of the property.
“New Riviera Hotel Development Corporation, the owner of the hotel building located on 3001 Roxas Blvd, Pasay, has decided to close Jen Manila by Shangri-La permanently as part of their redevelopment plans for the property,” according to a statement issued by the management.
The hotel was previously known as Traders Hotel Manila until it was rebranded into Hotel Jen in 2015 to cater to the rapidly changing needs of today’s generation travelers.
With the closure of Hotel Jen, the country will be left with only four Shangri-La properties, namely Edsa Shangri-La, Shangri-La at the Fort, Shangri-La Boracay, and Shangri-La Mactan.
Makati Shangri-La, which used to be one of the leading hotels in the Makati business district, announced its temporary closure in 2021 due to the slowdown in the hospitality industry amid the pandemic.
